2021 Grantee-New Hope Counseling

The Kenai Peninsula Foundation is happy to have New Hope Counseling as one of their 2021 Grantees! Because of your generous gift KPF is able to give to New Hope to help them continue their work directly in our Community! Please read more about New Hope Counseling and the wonderful work they are doing in our community! New Hope Counseling Center was established in 2003 to provide counseling services to the students of Alaska Christian College. Alaska Christian College serves a predominantly Alaska Native population ages 18-22 and many of these students have grown up in environments where alcoholism and abuse were prevalent.  It was the desire of Alaska Christian College to offer counseling services to each student to facilitate healing and restoration.  Each student that attends Alaska Christian College has the opportunity to receive counseling services as part of their tuition package.

In 2006, New Hope Counseling Center was able to extend its services beyond Alaska Christian College to the greater Kenai Peninsula.  By opening our doors to the community, we were able to offer professional, faith-based counseling services for individuals, couples, and families from Seldovia to Cooper Landing and as far west as rural Alaska.  Since our inception, we have grown from one Licensed Professional Counselor and two biblical mentors to four Licensed Professional Counselors. It has been a blessing to walk alongside people in their healing journey and we pray that all who enter our doors will find peace and hope.
